This seminar is especially relevant for staff and students in the Social Sciences, though students from other Faculties are also welcome to attend.

 This seminar will examine the contemporary issues researchers face when researching abroad and/or collaborating between disciplines. Cultural as well as current conflict situations can pose challenges and complexities for researchers and attendees will hear first-hand experiences and insight from presenters into how researchers can handle these modern day issues.

 Talks will be on topics outlining advice, guidance and protocols to follow when researching abroad, researching in a country dealing with conflict, managing diverse data with limited resources and collaborating across different disciplines.

 The full day seminar will be split into three themes:

  1. Multidisciplinary research
  2. Researching abroad
  3. Working with culturally diverse data in conflict zones

 Coffee/tea and lunch will be provided.
