Data Impact Fellows for 2019 announced

The programme is designed to support the use of UK Data Service data and resources by new generations of researchers and analysts working in the academic sector and, for the first time, in UK registered charities.

This year’s applications for the 2019 round of the Data Impact Fellows programme were of extremely high quality, making the judges’ job extremely difficult.

After much deliberation, the judges decided to make six full Fellowship awards and also two highly commended awards.

Our Data Impact Fellows 2019 come from a range of higher education institutions and UK registered charities, and are using UK Data Service data to develop impact in topics including:

  • smoking prevalence in the UK
  • domestic violence and forced migration
  • the impact of immigration on the labour market
  • the impact of minimum wage on young workers
  • intergenerational inequality
  • healthy sustainable eating, and;
  • social mobility.

Our new Data Impact Fellows will work with us to extend the impact of their research, writing for the Data Impact Blog and developing case studies.
