The 2017-18 UK Data Service annual report is now available.
The report sets out our work over the period from April 2017 to September 2018, and includes:
- A look at some of the 225 new studies and 176 new editions which joined the UK Data Service collection, such as The lives of young carers in England, 2015-16
- Our work to increase and celebrate the impact of research using data – including the Data Impact 2018 event and our second intake of Data Impact Fellows
- Our involvement at the heart of CESSDA and other international engagement
- Building new infrastructure to meet the challenge of ‘big data’
- Our advocacy and collaboration work, especially in preparing the Service and our partners and researchers for the advent of GDPR
- Our work in training and knowledge exchange – including over 170 workshops, webinars conferences and other events
We also mark some significant anniversaries – the UK Data Archive’s 50th, the English Housing Survey’s 50th, and the 60th anniversary of the National Child Development Study. And there’s a look ahead, not least to the rollout – with AQMeN – of our open-source QAMyData tool.
You can read the annual report online or download it. Please contact us if you would like a printed copy.
