Submissions are now open for the Crime Surveys User Conference 2019.
This annual conference, organised by the UK Data Service, will be held on Thursday 5 December. The event is free to attend and will be held at ONS Drummond Gate in London.
The User Conference brings data producers and data users together to share updates on the development of the surveys and to showcase research that is being carried out using the data. The programme will contain a mixture of presentations from data producers, including the Office for National Statistics (ONS), the Scottish Government and the Home Office, and from researchers who use crime-related data.
We would like to invite offers of presentations based on analysis of the UK crime surveys available from the UK Data Service, such as the Crime Survey for England and Wales, the Scottish Crime and Justice Survey and the Commercial Victimisation Survey.
This year we are including a session specifically to give PhD students an opportunity to present their research using the UK crime surveys. The PhD student can be at any stage of their study; the presentation does not necessarily have to include research results.
Please send offers of a paper, including your name, institution, a title and a 200-word abstract, to gillian.meadows@manchester.ac.uk by midnight on Wednesday 9 October. Please specify which data you used and if your submission is for the PhD student session.
We will evaluate all abstracts and notify authors after the selection process. A detailed programme of presentations will be provided prior to the conference. Booking will open when the programme has been finalised.
