On Wednesday 20 May 2020, between 12.15 and 1.15 BST, some of the UK Data Service’s Data Impact Fellows will be discussing their perspectives on doing research during the COVID-19 crisis. They will share their experiences and the challenges of undertaking research and developing impact at this time.

Ben Brindle (@bmbrindle)
Ben is in the second year of his economics PhD at the University of Brighton’s Business School. He is also undertaking a six-month internship at the Migration Policy Research Division at the International Organization for Migration (IOM), the United Nations’ migration agency.

James is a Research Economist at the Institute for Employment Studies (IES), a research institute based in Brighton.

Sarah is a PhD student in the Environment Department of the University of York, as well as the part-time Participatory GIS Technician for the PERICLES project.

Anthonia Ijeoma Onyeahialam (@MappingReveals)
Anthonia is a an Earth Observation and GIS Scientist with the GEOM (Geographic Data and Earth Observation for Monitoring) programme (EU funded) at Aberystwyth University. Her role is to support SMEs and organisations in Wales by helping them to exploit the fast-growing spatial intelligence market to benefit their organisation.

Marii Paskov (@MariiPaskov)
Marii is a sociologist and an academic researcher working on socio-economic inequalities. Currently she is a British Academy Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Oxford, affiliated to the Department of Social Policy and Intervention, Nuffield College, and the Institute for New Economic Thinking.
Matteo Sandi (@McMSandi)
Matteo is a Research Officer at the Centre for Economic Performance (LSE). His current fields of research are the economics of crime and the economics of education. He studies the determinants of crime and the crime-reducing effects of schooling, policing and public institutions.

Aishah has recently received her PhD award letter and also joined Dyson as a Commercial Data Product Manager based at its Malmesbury Campus. She works within the Global Data Service team to advocate the use of data in the organisation.

Bozena is a Research Associate at the Centre for Longitudinal Studies. Covid-19 permitting, she will be in Geneva to work on the Gender Pay Gap Project later this year.
