UK Data Service Newsletter – January 2025 – celebrating 10 years of the Impact blog

In this issue of the UK Data Service Newsletter, we are delighted to announce we have launched our UK Data Service Dissertation Award for the 2024-25 academic year, with £300 available for each winner. Plus, we are thrilled to update you on the future plans of our most recent cohort of Data Impact Fellows.

We also have many upcoming events and conferences to look forward to. In particular, our Crime Surveys User Conference on 5 March will be a great opportunity to hear about the latest developments in crime data from UK social surveys.

Additionally, we will be hosting our UK Census User Conference on 12-13 June in Manchester, which will bring together experts from across the UK to discuss new census data and research.

Finally, this year marks the 10th anniversary of our Data Impact blog. The blog has become a key resource over the last decade and we’ll be celebrating this impact across the year with a special series of blog posts.

Our regular newsletter offers Service users a way to keep up with our latest events and training opportunities, see which datasets have been featured across the media and explore opportunities to promote your own research via a case study or blog post for our Data impact team. Subscribe to receive future editions of the UK Data Service Newsletter direct to your mailbox (you can unsubscribe at any time).
