Waves 2
and 3 of Longitudinal Study of Young People in England 2 (LSYPE2), also known
as Our Future, are now available from the UK Data Service. These can be treated
as cross-sectional surveys or used with the Wave 1 dataset, which has already
been released, to conduct longitudinal analyses.
These
datasets contain rich information about the lives of 14-16-year-olds, and
include the views of their parents. Topics include:
- Economic and family
circumstances - Involvement in and attitudes
toward education - Young person’s choices,
plans and aspirations - Relationships, health,
behaviours and much more
In
addition, the data is linked to the National Pupil
Database (NPD)
items, allowing for analyses of Key Stage 2 attainment.
The
datasets are available to academic researchers at two different access levels: safeguarded and
controlled.
- Safeguarded-level survey
data for LSYPE2 Waves 2 and 3 - Controlled-level survey data
for LSYPE2 Waves 2 and 3, including extra, more sensitive survey items - Controlled-level linked NPD
data for individual KS2 results - Controlled-level imputed
missing KS2 SAT data
