System upgrades planned for the UK Data Service website

The UK Data Service website will be undergoing an upgrade to our systems from Wednesday 5 September until Wednesday 12 September inclusive. Some parts of the current website, account area and data catalogue will be unavailable. Normal services are expected to resume on 13 September 2018. We apologise for any inconvenience.

These changes should make it easier for users to reregister, for new users to create an account, and simplify the process for collaborators on project teams to gain access and agree to conditions placed upon project data. Our data catalogue search engine will also be upgraded, having taken into account feedback from our user experience testing.

We are also pleased to announce a new online account feature for our depositors, where metadata can be added, the licence can be signed and progress of the data deposit can be tracked.

While we will continue to do our best to service data users’ needs, we recommend that you download or request any data as soon as possible, so that your research will not be delayed.

Secure Lab users will not be affected during the upgrades, although it will not be possible to request new data for the Secure Lab during this period.

Please bear with us while we implement these changes.
