Call for papers: Health Studies User Conference 2026

We are pleased to announce that abstract submissions are now open for the Health Studies User Conference 2026.

This free, one-day event is hosted by the UK Data Service in partnership with UCL and the National Centre for Social Research and will take place on 25 June 2026 at UCL in London and online. The programme will feature a mixture of papers from those who produce the data and those who use them in their research.

Submission requirements

We invite abstracts for research papers based on analysis of any of the UK health studies available from the UK Data Service. Key studies include the Health Survey for England, Scottish Health Survey, National Survey of Sexual Attitudes and Lifestyles, Psychiatric Morbidity Surveys, Understanding Society, and Birth Cohort Studies, but you may have used any of the many other rich health studies available from the UK Data Service.

Previous presentations have covered topics such as mental health, inequality, obesity, ageing, and the use of synthetic data. We’re also interested in research presentations that use health study data linked with other forms of data, such as administrative data. If you need further inspiration take a look at lasts year’s programme (PDF).

Abstracts from researchers at all stages of their career, including PhD students, are welcome. Please note that all conference presentations must be delivered in person.

Please submit your abstract using the online submission form by midnight on Sunday 22 February. By submitting, you agree that your information can be shared with our conference partners.

We will review all abstracts and authors will be notified after the selection process is completed. A detailed programme of presentations will be provided prior to the conference.
