Researching deprivation in the UK: an introduction to secondary data
The Data Resources Training Network (DRTN) is pleased to announce a new webinar on the theme of deprivation. The free webinar will focus on secondary, quantitative data.
The speakers will be Alle Bloom from the UK Data Service, who will give an introduction to the datasets available, Smruti Bulsari from the University of Essex, who will present on the English indices of multiple deprivation in her research on dementia prevalence, and Emily Ennis from the University of Leeds, who will present on the Priority Places for Food Index that uses open data to determine levels of food insecurity across the UK.
Each speaker will provide a 20-minute presentation. The talks will be followed by a quick-fire question and answer slot.
The DRTN is a collaboration between a number of ESRC-funded resource centres that are working together to promote the value and use of social science data.
The organisers of this webinar are Understanding Society, the UK Data Service, the Consumer Data Research Centre (CDRC) and the National Centre for Research Methods (NCRM).
