An overview of survey data linkage

Data linkage, data integration, what do I need to know?

This free event is the first in a wider series of UK Data Service webinars that will explore data integration (also known as data linkage).

In this webinar we will:

• Give a general overview of the types of data that are integrated with survey data, and a short non-technical overview of common approaches to linkages.
• Present the main integrated datasets already available at the UK Data Service, with research examples.
• Explain the constraints in accessing integrated data and the application process to UK Data Service secure data.

The webinar will consist of a presentation followed by questions from participants.

The programme and dates for the wider series will be announced throughout the year and will focus on the integration of survey data with other data that are useful to survey researchers and analysts: biological measurements, digital trace data as well as administrative and health records.

Presenter: Pierre Walthéry, UK Data Service. Pierre has a PhD in Social statistics and has researched and published about gender and flexible working, working time and atypical work, public health and time-use. He currently works as a Research Associate in the Training and User Support team at the UK Data Service. Pierre develops training materials and is responsible for organising and delivering content at webinars, workshops, and user conferences.
