Depositing your data with ReShare
This is a workshop designed to give participants a virtual tour of ReShare, where you will learn everything you need to know in order to archive data using our self-deposit repository.
This workshop will be useful if you are an ESRC grant holder whose grant has ended and is required to deposit your research data; if you are a researcher interested in making data available for replication, reuse, or as evidence for a published paper; or if you are just curious to explore how publishing data happens in practice.
The session will cover how to deposit data using a self-deposit repository like ReShare; how to describe a data collection well (i.e. what metadata and documentation should be provided); why providing detailed and accurate metadata is important; how to prepare and upload data and documentation files; and finally what access level and licence is suitable, plus how this is determined for data archived via ReShare.
The 90-minute workshop will consist of a 45-minute presentation followed by a 30-minute practical element where attendees can create a mock ReShare data collection. The workshop will conclude with 15 minutes for questions and discussion.
