The Data Resources Training Network (DRTN) is pleased to announce a new webinar on the theme of environmental attitudes and behaviours. This free webinar will focus on secondary, quantitative data. It will take place on MS Teams.

The speakers will be Pierre Walthéry from the UK Data Service who will present a sample of studies from the UKDS catalogue with attitudinal and behavioural data relevant for sustainability related research, Mark Elliot from the University of Manchester who will describe research which extracted latent variables of environmental concern from social survey data, he will discuss whether class or factor analysis is a more appropriate technique for these constructs, and Richard Kingston and Dave Topping from NERCs Digital Solutions Hub, which aims to develop a Digital Hub and set of Toolkits that exploits environmental and other data (social, economic and health) to create innovative digital services that deliver economic, societal and environmental benefits across the UK. Each speaker will provide a 20-minute presentation. The talks will be followed by a quick-fire question and answer slot.

To complement the webinar series, NCRM has collated a suite of resources relating to the theme of environmental attitudes and behaviours, which will be launched following the event.

The organisers of the series are Understanding Society, UK Data Service, Consumer Data Research Centre (CDRC) and the National Centre for Research Methods (NCRM).

The DRTN is a collaboration between a number of ESRC-funded resource centres that are working together to promote the value and use of social science data.

The network includes: CeLSIUS, NILS-RSU, SLS-DSU, CLOSER, Understanding Society, CLS, AQMeN, UK Data Service, CDRC, NCRM, Urban Big Data Centre, European Election Study, ADR UK, NICOLA, Business and Local Government Data Research Centre and Consumer Data Research Centre.
