In today’s world of complex social and economic challenges, data-driven research is a powerful tool for understanding issues and shaping solutions.

But turning research into real-world impact takes more than evidence.

Success requires tailored communication and creative engagement strategies. As a participant in this free UK Data Service event, you will engage with a range of organisations and individuals using data to make a difference, including:

This dynamic event is designed to help you build skills, networks and confidence in creating impact. The day will feature:

  • An engaging, interactive workshop led by policy engagement specialists from CLOSER – the interdisciplinary partnership of leading social and biomedical longitudinal population studies. Modelled on their successful Policy Hub sessions, this hands-on workshop will guide you through creating your own policy brief.
  • Lightning keynotes: big ideas in short bursts. Key insights from decision-makers, academics, and third-sector representatives on bridging research and real-world change.
  • Data Impact Fellows in conversation. Engage with a panel discussion and learn about the opportunities and challenges navigated by past and present researchers a little ahead of you on their career paths.
  • Stakeholder “speed-dating”. Connect directly with stakeholders in a roundtable session. We encourage you to ask questions, share ideas, and listen to practical advice from the experts!
  • Networking and creative engagement activities. Build connections throughout the day in informal activities designed to spark collaboration and discussion.
