We’re pleased to announce the launch of our new UK Data Service Data Catalogue. This updated data catalogue has been designed with user feedback at its core to make finding and working with data faster and easier.
The new catalogue has a modern feel, improved performance and new functionality such as enhanced search, better filtering and easier navigation. We’d like to thank everyone who contributed to the process and we hope these changes help you get even more from our resources.
What’s new?
One of the key changes we have made is to move the data catalogue platform to the cloud. It now performs faster and features new filtering functionality and a variable search.
The search results are divided into tabs at the top, where users can refine their search within tab headings. New tool tips have been added to the filters and tabs to explain what they are. The “Search tips” have also been updated.
The “Browse by theme” categories have been moved to the landing page, in addition to the “Additional data resources” section at the bottom – featuring links to other UK Data Service data resources, other international social science data catalogues and API integration instructions.

We hope you enjoy exploring the new features of the catalogue. We have updated our user guides and training videos to ensure the transition is as smooth as possible, but feel free to contact our team if you have any specific questions. You can also add feedback about the catalogue in a popup survey that will appear upon exiting, when you access the new catalogue page.
