Dissertation award 2021

Are you an undergraduate student using data from the UK Data Service collection in your dissertation this year? If so, you may be eligible to enter the UK Data Service Dissertation Award!

About

This award recognises outstanding undergraduate dissertations on social science topics that include excellent reuse of data. We will award prizes for the three best dissertations from this academic year. Each winning entry will receive a £300 voucher and publicity via our website, blog and newsletter.

New judge

This year we are delighted to welcome Professor Sarah Smith as a new member of our judging panel. Sarah is Professor of Economics at the University of Bristol and her expertise in in applied microeconomics. Her research has explored pensions, saving and retirement and is currently focused on the economics of not-for-profit organisations.
She will be joining our other judges, Dr Vanessa Higgins from the UK Data Service and Dr Paula Devine from ARK, Northern Ireland’s social policy hub. See our blog post introducing our judging panel last year, for details of their expertise.
