Welcome to our new website. The first phase is now live to help you find and access services more easily. The changes have been led by user feedback and accessibility.
The second phase of website development will begin later this year, following a further stage of feedback and testing with service users. This will include a new Help section to enable you to find answers quickly to the most common questions and the integration of our data catalogue and account areas to enable research access to an even better end-to-end data service.
The new website has been designed around the requirements of researchers, data providers, teachers and data managers and makes it easier to find or deposit data; browse all the data-skills guidance and training in our new Learning hub and events calendar; read the Data Impact blog and latest case studies or go directly to the data catalogue.
Like all digital services, this is an evolving channel and we welcome feedback to improve the site. Please get in touch if you would like to participate or send any feedback.
Gemma Hakins, Director of Communications and Engagement said:
“The wealth of information we provide is much of what makes the UK Data Service such an essential research resource. The new website makes it easier for our audiences to find services quickly, whilst highlighting more about what we do and how data from our collection are used to develop data skills, inform research and influence policy.
“I want to thank all our internal and external service users for their patience, and our small project team who have worked tirelessly to deliver phase one of the redesign. Today’s launch is just the first step in the new site’s development. Further enhancements will begin later this year so that researchers can find the data they need more easily to contribute to research and innovation.”
The new website is part of the UK Data Service’s commitment to improve services by simplifying and streamlining processes and practice to make the lives of users simpler and better whilst ensuring safe protocols are maintained where required.
