Improved search for our Data Catalogue

We launched our new content and access management system and data catalogue a year ago, and have now optimised the search function. We’ve also changed how search results are retrieved, displayed and sorted – all informed by observing and testing how users actually search.

Jeannine Beeken, who co-ordinates the UK Data Service Data Catalogue, and Veerle Van den Eynden, who manages our Research Data Management team, have written a new blog post about the search optimisation work that they and their teams have carried out.

It covers searching, filters, metadata fields, relevance, and many other aspects of the search function.
