The annual UK Data Service Dissertation Award has been launched for the 2021-22 academic year. The award recognises outstanding undergraduate social science dissertations that include excellent reuse of data.
Undergraduate students are welcome to use the UK Data Service. Before registering, you can browse through our catalogue, which can be filtered by thematic category (such as COVID-19, poverty, environment and energy) or by data type (for example; survey data, qualitative or administrative). Once you have registered as a Service user, you will be able to access and download datasets to facilitate your research. We also offer a set of free and publicly available resources on the effective and correct use of data in dissertations, including a suite of virtual, interactive training modules.
If you are a student or a supervisor, further information on how to submit a dissertation for consideration can be found in our Learning hub; you can also download the entry form.
There are three awards and each winning entry will receive a £300 voucher and be featured on our website. See the Dissertation Award web page for full details of how to enter and our news item on the award winners of 2020-21.
The deadline for submissions is 29 June 2022.
