Newcomers research week 2025
These are internal events for University of Essex staff and students.
Newcomers research week is organised once a year in January and offers early career researchers and new starters at the University of Essex bite size sessions as introductions to the research support offered at the university.
Covering a broad range of topics across the research lifecycle, this week-long programme of free training sessions offers a great opportunity to start the new year focusing on your development as a researcher. Sessions are delivered by staff from the UK Data Service and many other departments at the University of Essex.
2025’s programme has all new sessions as well as some returning favourites, so there should be something for everyone.
January’s sessions cover:
- Research ethics
- Research data practices
- Finding resources
- Sharing and impact
- Planning and writing a grant
- Writing and publishing
- And more!
