GMCVO and the UK Data Service (University of Manchester) have worked together to organise an online workshop about how voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations can use data to inform their work.
Funded by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC), this free event is part of the UK-wide ESRC Festival of Social Science, an annual celebration of the social sciences that aims to demonstrate how social sciences have contributed to society.
The event will feature practical examples from VCSE organisations about how different types of data has helped them with securing funding, understanding the economic and social environment they operate in, and producing evidence of their service delivery. Representatives from the UK Data Service and Manchester Metropolitan University will guide attendees through specific data sources that have potential for use within the VCSE, including the support and resources available through the UK Data Service. Participants will have the chance to explore some of these data resources themselves.
