Social Media
content is of increasing interest in Social Science research. Blog histories
and Timelines can provide insights as to how exposure to social media itself
might be influencing the individual.

In this free
webinar, organised by the UK Data Service, we will look at some of the tools
available to collect and reconstruct a user's Twitter timeline, not just what
they Tweet, but also what they see. We will outline how you can go about
getting the necessary Twitter developers account and the API credentials to
perform these tasks. We will then demonstrate using Python and the Twitter API
how to collect a Timeline and reconstruct what the user sees.

Presenter:
Peter Smyth, University of Manchester

The webinar
will last for 1 hour with 15 minutes for questions and answers at the end.

Recordings of UK Data Service webinars are made available on our YouTube channel and, together with the slides, on our past events pages soon after the webinar has taken place.
